AO3 purity test privacy policy: your fanfiction quiz answers stay in your browser

We built the AO3 purity test as a free online fanfiction quiz that respects your bookmarks tab. This page explains, in plain language, what happens to your data when you use ao3puritytest.com.

What data does the AO3 purity quiz collect?

• We don't ask you to create an account.
• We don't ask for your email to take the AO3 purity test.
• We don't send your test answers to any server. Your checkboxes stay in your browser tab.
• We don't share, sell, or trade personal information — because we don't have any.

What may be logged

Like most websites, our hosting provider may keep short-lived request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and reliability. We may use privacy-respecting analytics to see aggregate page visits — never individual quiz answers.

Cookies

The AO3 purity test does not require any tracking cookies to work. If we add optional features later (like saving your score locally so you can compare across sessions), they'll be opt-in and stored in your own browser, not on our servers.

Third parties

The site loads fonts from Google Fonts to keep pages fast and pretty. If you'd rather block that, any content-blocker will handle it and the site still works. We may embed the occasional external link to AO3 or the OTW — those sites have their own privacy policies.
